We absolutely LOVE this thing. It's so nice to be able to look up at the ceiling and know what the time is and whether to pull the covers up tighter and snuggle a little longer. I've had a projection alarm before that was in a blue light. It was so bright you could read by it and I found myself covering it up to block the light. This one has a soft red light that doesn't burn your retinas through your eyelids. We live in a very cold climate, this winter even more so than usual. Being able to see the outside temperature without having to even roll over has been nice. The only issue is if the electricity is turned off you have to set the temp sensor again. Other than that, it's so great my husband wants to get them as Christmas presents for his employees next year.

I love projection alarm clocks and was excited to get one that allows me to view outdoor temp and time via projection. I have been disappointed with this clock though.

First, at night I can only see what time it is on the ceiling. The blue backlight only comes on if you hit any button and stays on for a few seconds, otherwise there is no backlighting on this clock. So if you wake up in the middle of the night and are facing the clock you have to roll over onto your back to view the projection on the ceiling or hit a button to view the numbers on the clock itself. There is no way to adjust the settings to have the backlight stay on. This is a poor design and should be redesigned to give you the option to have the clock lit at night.

Second, the buttons on the front of the clock that are used to turn on the alarm clock and make adjustments require that you hit them multiple times for them to work. Plus it is really akward to hit the buttons on the front of the alarm clock while you are lying in bed. At least the snooze is on the top, is easy to hit, and is responsive each time you hit it.

Overall, I like that I can see the outdoor temp and time on my ceiling but wish the buttons were more responsive, were not on the front of the clock, and wish it had backligting so it can be viewed at night without hitting a button. I would buy a different clock if I could do it again.

And if that doesn't put your feet on the floor, the pulsating alert lights and Super Shaker bed vibrating unit will. I was desperate to find an alarm that would wake me up in the morning. I joked with my husband about finding one that has a sledge-hammer to clock me in the head, because I just couldn't wake up in the morning.

I was setting an alarm clock, my cell phone clock, and having my husband calling on his way to work and I was sleeping through all of it!

I found this on Amazon and I am astounded at how well it works. The disk goes right under the mattress and it literally vibrates (in bursts) the whole bed. It's not what it sounds like...it's not going to collapse the bed or damage anything...the disk is the size of a large hockey puck and is self contained in it's vibration. The decibel level of the alarm, although doesn't seem much different from other clocks...is unique in its tone and pitch. It has a louder and "stronger" sound (if that make sense). The lights, to me, are unnecessary, because between the shaking and the alarm, it's enough to wake me up.

The only problem is that it has a snooze button! So, I'll get jolted awake, smack the snooze button, and fall right back asleep. However, that's my problem...not the alarm.

A great alarm for people who have a hard time waking up to a Traditional Alarm Clock.

When I was younger, my father was asked what it was like to wake up his son. After pausing for a moment, he looked up and said "Have you ever tried to wake a carrot?"

Now, several years later, I was looking for an alarm to get me up without waking up the entire block. I can say with some degree of certainty that this is it. I've only used the vibrating alarm, not the audible alarm, so I can't say how well it works (but it is loud). However, the vibrator works amazingly well. I really can't express with words just how startling it is to have your own personal mattress earthquake. The alarm clock also allows one to program how long the snooze is, how long the alarm will go off for, etc. This means that you can set the snooze button to give you one minute of extra rest - not really enough time to fall back asleep. So if you have trouble with pressing the snooze button multiple times, this might be a useful feature for you.

Although this is a great alarm clock, it does have a few cons, none of which were significant enough for me to lower the rating to four stars. First of all, setting the alarm clock can be a bit annoying. You have to manually advance the hour and minutes separately, and you can't go backwards. If you want to wake up at 7:00 am, and the alarm is set for 8:00 am, you have to go through 23 hours to get it where you want it. Also, the alarm clock only has one alarm - that is, you can't set an alarm at 7:00 and a panic alarm (if you sleep through the first) at 7:30 or so. Not that I (or you for that matter) have ever failed to wake up to an alarm and slept in. Nope...

The bottom line - This is a great alarm clock. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new alarm clock. I feel I should also mention that this alarm could be very useful to someone who was hard of hearing, of deaf. The vibrator really doesn't make much noise, it's the feel that wakes you up. Just a thought...

Finally, to those of you who are reading this review at some ungodly hour of the night because you slept through your alarm this morning - do yourself a favor and go to sleep. Cheers!
